Paint Correction in Northern Utah

A multi-stage polishing process that buffs out swirls, light scratches, and dull spots, so your paint looks deep, clear, and glossy again.

What Is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is exactly what it sounds like. It is the process of removing imperfections in your paint while bringing back shine, depth, and clarity.

It does not hide the defects. A proper correction re-levels the paint itself, removing the swirls, scratches, and haze that dull the finish, rather than filling them in to reappear later.

Even a new vehicle can benefit. Think of the transport trucks carrying new cars to dealerships. By the time a vehicle reaches the showroom floor, it has often been washed and dried improperly, and you can already see light swirl marks and spider webbing under the lights. We bring the paint back to a better-than-new condition.

Your Paint Is the First Thing People See

Dull, swirled paint makes an expensive vehicle look tired. Correction is also the foundation for lasting protection.

Correct the paint first, then protect it. Never the other way around.

Common Paint Imperfections We Correct

Swirl Marks

Swirls come from improper washing and the wrong materials, and they show as fine circular marks when light hits the paint.

Spider Webbing

Fine scratches in a web-like pattern, left by the wrong wash, buff, or dry materials.

Water Spots

Even after water evaporates, the minerals left behind embed into the paint. Depending on severity, these take different techniques to remove.

Bird Droppings

Highly acidic, they can etch marks into the paint that remain long after the droppings are cleaned off.

Bugs

Bug guts are acidic, and left on the paint they etch into the surface over time.

Scratches

Some scratches sit in the clear coat, others cut deeper. The depth decides whether we can erase it or just improve it.

Tree sap, oxidation, and more. If it is dulling your finish, we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot remove.

CoaticLab Process, Start to Finish

Every correction starts by seeing the paint’s true condition and ends with a final inspection under light. Our process is never rushed. It is done right.

01

Wash and Decontaminate

A full wash and decontamination strips everything off the surface so we can see the paint’s true condition.

02

Inspect and Measure

We assess the defects under proper lighting and plan the correction to your paint and its condition.

03

Machine Polish

Using machine polishers, compounds, polishes, and specialized pads, we re-level the paint and remove imperfections stage by stage.

04

Refine and Inspect

A final refining pass brings up the gloss, then we inspect the finish under light before the vehicle leaves.

Straight Answers About Your Paint

The condition of your paint decides how far a correction can go. In most cases we remove nearly all imperfections. In some, the paint is too far gone and the honest answer is a repaint. Either way, we will do everything possible to restore your finish, and we will always be straight with you about what is realistic before we start.

Lock In the Results

Correction brings the paint back. A ceramic coating on top enhances that fresh gloss and protects the work, locking in the shine, repelling water, and making it far easier to keep clean. The two go hand in hand.

Just got my 5% tint done and it turned out really well
CoaticLab did my Tesla Y 4 years ago in the matte finish and loved that car. Sold it to buy a Juniper Y
In March, made a bad mistake going to another company and that was a disaster. Went back to the CoaticLab team and had them PPF wrap red and ceramic coat on the new Tesla. I am more than pleased this time around, don’t make my mistake just go the the best Coaticlab in Clearfield on Antelope Drive.

I've used three different PPF companies to protect our investments. Coatic is by far the best. Used them twice and the accuracy, adhesion, and coverage is always perfect. Have also had the ceramic coating which we are very happy with. Keep up the great, professional work!

I can’t say enough good things about CoaticLab and especially Blake. From the very beginning, Blake was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us find the perfect wrap color for our 1991 Mazda Miata. We went through countless options, comparisons, and ideas, and he never once made us feel rushed or like we were asking too many questions. His attention to detail and willingness to help made the entire process exciting instead of overwhelming.

What really stood out was the communication throughout the project. Blake consistently provided updates, progress photos, and explanations as they worked through the unique challenges that come with wrapping an older car. Rather than cutting corners, they took the time to talk through issues, ask questions, and make sure everything was done the right way. That level of professionalism and transparency is rare.

Walking into their shop and seeing exotic cars and supercars everywhere could have easily been intimidating, but CoaticLab treated our Miata with the exact same level of care and attention. At no point did we feel like “just another customer” or like our car mattered any less because it wasn’t a six-figure exotic. That says a lot about the culture and standards of the company.

The final result absolutely exceeded expectations. The quality of the wrap, the fit and finish, and the overall attention to detail are incredible. You can tell they truly care about their work and take pride in delivering something special.

If you’re considering a wrap or custom work and want a shop that combines high-end quality with outstanding customer service, I would recommend CoaticLab without hesitation. Huge thanks again to Blake and the entire team for making this such an awesome experience.

Got the ceramic coating and tint done at Coaticlab and it looks absolutely amazing. My paint honestly looks better than when I bought the car brand new. My mom had her new car coated here first, and after seeing how good hers turned out, I knew I had to do the same when I got mine. Everything turned out perfect and the car looks incredible.

Paint Correction FAQ

Does my new car really need paint correction?

Often, yes. Even new vehicles pick up swirls and light scratches on the way from the factory to the dealer. Correction brings the paint to a better-than-new finish.

It removes most imperfections, but not all. Deep scratches that have gone through the clear coat may only be improved, not erased. We will tell you honestly what is possible before we start.

No. A wax hides defects temporarily. Paint correction re-levels the paint to actually remove them.

Yes. Coating over swirled paint seals the swirls in. Correction first is what makes the coating look its best.

It depends on the size of the vehicle and the condition of the paint. We will give you a clear timeline with your quote.

If the paint is beyond correction, we will tell you straight and point you toward a repaint. We will not sell you work that will not deliver.
